My Three Favorite Restaurants In Baltimore

Published by Daniel Morrison, Wealth Advisor

As a wealth advisor, I work hard at my firm every single day in order to help families unlock the secret to their financial success. As a father and a husband, I love to spend time with my family during my free time outside of my career. One way we have fun together is by eating out and enjoying our favorite foods.

Here are my three favorite restaurants in our hometown of Baltimore:

La Cuchara

Come inside and enjoy the beautiful ambiance, Basque cuisine, and a glass of tempranillo. La Cuchara puts an emphasis on flavor, experience, and presentation. Kick off your meal with one of their Pintxos (small finger foods) and then pick an entree from the seasonal menu (one fan favorite is the crispy oysters). This spot is perfect for group outings, date nights, or a simple dinner out.

La Cuchara’s Happy Hours are well known around town, Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. to closing, and all day on Sundays. Plenty of available parking makes it easy for all diners, and the fantastic service includes a waitstaff that is very accommodating to food allergies. Ekiben

If you love Asian fusion, you definitely need to visit Ekiben. This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is great for diners who crave tasty food that is also reasonably priced. A popular menu item is the Neighborhood Bird, which is three pieces of Taiwanese fried chicken thigh topped with spicy sambal mayo with pickles and fresh herbs. All dishes can be enjoyed on a fluffy bao bun or rice.

Ekiben lives up to all the hype, so plan to come early as this small place quickly has people lined up at the door. For more information, visit their website

Clavel Mezcaleria

This Mexican taqueria and mezcaleria fills up quickly—and for good reason. Clavel Mezcaleria is known for their breakfast, brunch, and taco menus. The atmosphere is loud and hip but laid-back.

Loyal diners love getting the queso fundido (a melty cheese dip, perfect for cheese lovers) with their favorite protein. Their top tacos are the Carne de Res (steak tips), El Luchador (Cod), and Barbacoa de Borrego (lamb), and don’t forget to enjoy their fresh salsa and guacamole served with hand-made tortillas!

Clavel also has excellent cocktails. Head to the bar to try out their spicy margaritas and micheladas. Clavel prides itself on only serving artisanal and ancestral Mezcal from different states in Mexico. Read more about the restaurant on their official website
