It is often said, “history repeats itself.” There is no better cliché to use when discussing the stock market. As of late, it has been fun to check your statements. It seems the market continues marching upward, despite any worries we may feel. The market “herd” is gathering a little steam. You can feel it when you watch the financial shows or talk to friends. The conversation often revolves around a big fish someone caught recently in the stock market, forgetting the one that caused the pain. It is easy to feel like you are the one missing out. This usually happens when we experience a bull market for any length of time. People get a little confused; they believe a bull market is an actual strategy.
It is easy to rationalize a bull market. It is also easy to rationalize events like 2008-2009, the real estate bubble, and the dot-com bubble; not to mention a few “bubbles” in between. All of these events were not that long ago. Yet, market risk is easy to forget when living in the moment of a bull market. Those events certainly affected a lot of people’s wealth and forced change to a lot of financial plans.
Using those events as a reminder, we know what goes up, always goes down. For every bull market we experience, eventually a bear market will follow. That is why having an investment process is so important. Therefore, you should not lose yourself in the moment. That is why developing a financial plan based on YOUR goals and YOUR risk tolerance, not the whims of the markets, is a must. Developing an investment allocation and portfolio based on YOUR life style and needs may help ensure that your standard of living is not threatened by the next bear market.
That is why we rely on discipline, not instinct.
At Jacob William Advisory, we are passionate about ensuring that you understand how and why your individual investment strategy can help you reach your goals. We rely upon a repeatable, research-driven process that focuses on identifying high-quality, well-managed companies. Additionally, we rely on leveraging secular market trends and constructing personalized allocations aligned with your individual needs, goals, and risk parameters.
Each of our process-driven, time-tested strategies are managed by our Investment Committee. This dedicated team is comprised of portfolio managers, fundamental and technical analysts, and strategists. This experienced team seeks to employ a repeatable, research-driven process that focuses on selecting high-quality, well-run companies. These companies are determined through disciplined investment selection and due diligence. Investment possibilities are rigorously evaluated by our analysts and Investment Committee prior to implementing a new investment idea. Our process applies a sequence of screens that eliminate investments deemed to be outside of a portfolio’s risk profile or the established investment themes. We develop investment strategies based upon ultimate end-goal themes. By leveraging our disciplined investment process, you receive: transparency of your information, seamless proactive service, and the trust and accountability that you require to help meet your financial objectives.
Our goal at Jacob William Advisory is to work with clients throughout the “Wealth Designed. Putting a comprehensive and disciplined plan in place to pursue your goals will not only assist you in your quest to attain True Wealth, but free you from the stress of monitoring day-to-day market movements. Our job is to take the worry out of managing your finances so you can rest easy. We want you to get to the end of your life and say, “I’m glad I did,” not “I wish I had.” Jacob William Advisory is dedicated to helping clients reach a higher purpose for their wealth and to designing a lasting legacy for their families.
